One of the more cumbersome, but important processes to manage as a product team is running a successful beta program. From internal comms to recruitment to getting feedback during the beta, it's all full of administration and operational tasks that take you away from just speaking to customers and building your product. We've seen our customers outsource the annoying parts of this process to Twine. Here's how you can run your use Twine to make your beta program less painful for everyone.

Start by defining the feature

Create your feature in Twine with the status set to Exploring. In the about section, include some basics about the feature and links to the best calendar to book meetings with and Slack channels to go to if they have interested customers.

Targeted beta recruitment

Create an announcement for the feature. In the announcement include similar details and let them know that Twine is reaching out to them specifically because their customers asked for this feature in the past. Include the link to the appropriate calendar so they can easily share it with the customer.

Twine will remind them of every customer who asked for the feature, when they asked for it, and what they specifically said on the call.

With a single announcement you've now activated a targeted group of your global GTM team without having to blast everyone, run an internal survey, speak at an all-hands, etc. Your team already has this data, Twine just activates it for you.

Create a feature digest

Ask Twine to send you weekly updates of what these customers are saying about the feature on calls, and follow along with any new customers who might be a good fit. We suggest having these shared in your team's Slack channel every Monday morning so you start the week with a beta program digest sent right where you work.

Get customer context

As customers book time in your calendar, no need to ask for the context about the customer. Twine makes it simple to know what opportunities are currently in flight, their total account value, segment information, all recent calls they've had, and all product feedback they've shared.

Record your calls

Use Gong or Twine's call bot to record your own calls with the customers to make your discovery captured in any future digests, with key moments automatically clipped by Twine and ready to share with your product team.

Build features customers and GTM teams love

Without much manual admin work, you've tapped into customer champions and ensured that your GTM teams are part of the product design and discovery phase with minimal distraction from their day-to-day responsibilities. Be sure to leverage Twine to remove the administrative burden and bring your teams closer together!
